My Reflections
Rotation
Our class rotation is cooking. We have had four sessions. We have made french toast, stewed apple, welsh reibeit and burritos. I learned that when you set a table, the glass goes on the right hand side. Learning these skills will hopefully help us later in life.
Maths
In our maths class with Miss W, we have been desighning a garden. My parnter is Ashleigh. I have learned how to find the area of a rectangle and a triangle. I am enjoying desighning this garden!
Skills For Life
In skills for life, we have been focusing on ” No shame in fame”. We have been doing activities such as doing a multiple intelligence quiz, planning our own yellow page and making an award for a person we have interviewed. These skills we have been learning hopfully will help us later in life by trying not to be so shy and not letting others stop you doing your best.

Rotation
Hi everyone. We still have cooking as our rotation, and have made some really nice things. Including: bacon and cheese potatoes, scones and sweet or savoury scones. These basic recipies will help us later on in life, or now, if we need to cook something quick, easy and yummy!!
Maths
We have now finished our gardens that we have been desighning. It was lots of fun. Now we focusing on how to work out the area, base and height of a shape. I am getting better at it, and it will help us when we are in higher grades, or when we get a job.
Skills For Life
Our new focus in skills for life is ‘Once Is Enough’. It means that people chouldn’t have to ask you to do things more than once. I think this should help us later in life by teaching us to only be asked once to do something.

In our classes out of home-room, such as drama, IT, cooking, PE and music, we learn lots. I really enjoy these classes, because they teach as lots of different things for either now, or later in life.
In IT, we have been making a Powerpoint slide show on “Sustainable Living”. We are learning how important it is to save energy, water, waste and transport so that there is a future for young people. With PE, we are doing some gymnastics. I have learned how to do a round off (like a cart-wheel). I’m not sure weather this will help us later in life, but at the moment it’s lots of fun!
Doing maths time, we have been going around the 6/7 classes and doing surveys. We will then turn the data from the surveys into graphs. Ash is my partner.

Maths
In maths, we have been learning about angles and geometry. I didn’t really understand it at first, but now I do. I think this will help us later on in life, by teaching us the angles and degrees of shapes, to help us if we wanted a job as an achitect.

It’s our first week back at school, and the start of term 3, and we have been doing heaps! Miss W has set tasks for us already. These list if activities include: A 4 page Japanese project (my topic is the seasons of Japan), a Human body system project, 5 ‘health cards’ and a 30 minute talk in front of the class, where you have to be the teacher.
This term will envolve lots of hard work, and over all, the first week back at school has been good!

During this week, we have been focusing on the Athletics Carnival. It is very competitive but also lots of fun. We have been having practises every morning with our houses. In PE, we have been practising long and triple jump, javlin, discus, shot put, relays and our sprint starts.
We have almost finished our science rotation, and we will be moving onto history soon. In science we have made a “volcano”, slime, sherbet and many more things. We have also had to do a slide show on 3 famous scienctist. I did Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Marie Curie. It has been lots of fun.

Rotation:
We have now got a new rotation, which is history with Miss W. We have been doing lots of things on soldiers which fourt in World War 1. We have had partners and we have to research a soldier and then make a PhotoStory on the soldiers life. So far, we have found our heaps of information.
Maths:
In maths, we have started Algebra. I havn’t done it before, so it was sort of hard getting used to changing the number into symbols, but I’m getting used to it and so far it’s been really easy.
IT:
In IT, we have been focusing on Pivot, which is where you can make a stick man make any shape or move any way you want. It is really fun, and by the end of the term, we have to make a small movie with it. I’m still playing around with mine.
